The SciLog® SciPure® 200 Large Volume Automated TFF System
The SciLog SciPure 200 automates and documents tangential flow filtration (TFF) procedures, i.e. the concentration and washing (diafiltration) of dilute protein solutions. TFF automation is achieved by simultaneously monitoring feed line pressure (P1), retentate line pressure (P2) and permeate line pressure (P3). The SciPure 200 incorporates the pressure data into an exclusive software-driven fluid handling system that automatically controls and adjusts pressure and/or flow rates in the TFF system.
During TFF concentration, the SciPure 200 implements user-definable pressure scans of the trans-membrane pressure (TMP), differential pressure (DP) or feed line pressure (P1). Starting with an optimal, higher pressure,the scan feature provides for continued pressure optimization by allowing for an automated, smooth decrease of the pressure over a user-selected protein concentration range.

Pump Heads:
AccuLobe Rotary Lobe Pump Head with integral 1:3 Speed Reducer and NEMA motor mount, made by Viking Pumps. For water (1 cps), the maximum pump rate at 0psi backpressure ranges from 0.07 to 3.1 gal./min.
Pump Motors:
Variable speed motor, continuous duty, 1750 RPM max, 1.0 HP motor is rated for 180 VDC, 10 amperes. Motor Encoder: Optically encoded and servo-controlled; 100 lines per motor revolution.

Electronic Scale, 30kg capacity, +/- 0.005kg resolution. NTEP Class III, HACCP sensitive sanitary design. Stainless steel wash-down construction with 12 x 12 platform. Serial communication / hookup. Scale is located on a SS platform above the pump motor to provide gravity flow of retentate into the AccuLobe rotary lobe pump head.

| Reservoir:
|
20 liter polypropylene, retentate reservoir, bottom outlet with shut-off valve. Reservoir cap comes with two (2) ½ barb inlets and one (1) ¼ barb inlet. The 20 liter reservoir is located on the 30 kg scale and has a fluid connection to inlet of the rotary lobe pump.

| Diaphragm Valves:

Three (3), 316 SS, manual diaphragm valves with ¾ TC connectors, located in the feed, retentate and permeate lines for isolation of MaxiMate TFF filtration device.

316 SS, Inline Sampling Valve with ¼ TC connections and ¼ hose barb outlet. Located in the feed line at the system low-point. Sampling valve is also used for draining of TFF system.

316 SS tubing, custom elbows and tees, electro-polished, ½ TC connections for system assembly.
