GMP System

The SciPure 300 GMP reduces your costs and time to market by automating and documenting your TFF manufacturing applications including ultrafiltration, microfiltration, concentration and diafiltration. This revolutionary purification platform uses intuitive, menu-driven software built upon the reliability of Microsoft Windows XP. The continuous data acquisition afforded by the SciPure 300 GMP is 21 CFR Part 11 compliant and permits users to export and backup process results and data either locally on the unit or over a network domain or workgroup. Nearly every process parameter is user-definable. Built in administrator tools permit detailed user access control with event logging.

Automated Tangential 
Flow Filtration System

The SciPure 200 automates and documents tangential flow filtration (TFF) procedures, i.e. the concentration and washing (diafiltration) of dilute protein solutions. During TFF concentration, the SciPure 200 implements user-definable pressure scans of the trans-membrane pressure (TMP), differential pressure (DP) or feed line pressure.

Pump Heads:
AccuLobe Rotary Lobe Pump Head with integral 1:3 Speed Reducer and NEMA motor mount, made by Viking Pumps. For water (1 cps), the maximum pump rate at 0psi backpressure ranges from 0.07 to 3.1 gal./min.

Pump Motors:
Variable speed motor, continuous duty, 1750 RPM max, 1.0 HP motor is rated for 180 VDC, 10 amperes. Motor Encoder: Optically encoded and servo-controlled; 100 lines per motor revolution.

Flow Meter:

316 SS, Sanitary Turbine Flow Transmitter with ¾ TC connections. 4-20mA output, calibrated flow range: 0.075 gal/min (0.28 liter/min) to 9.0 gal/min (34.0 liters/min). Output Accuracy: +/- 0.5%, linear output range: 0.075 to 7.5 gal/min. The flow meter is located in the TFF filter feed line

Pressure
Transmitter:

Three (3), 316 SS, Sanitary Pressure Transmitter with ¾ TC connections, 0 - 100 psi, 4-20mA output. Accuracy: +/-0.25%. Pressure transmitters are located in the TFF feed line (P1), retentate line (P2) as well as in the permeate line (P3).

Temperature
Transmitter:

316 SS, Sanitary Temperature Transmitter with ¾ TC connection. 0-100 C, 4-20mA output. Accuracy: +/- 0.18% at 100° C.

Control Valve:

316 SS, Diaphragm Valve, Electro-Pneumatic Proportional Pressure Control Valve with ½ TC connections. Required voltage supply of 24 VDC, 4-20mA signal input for valve positioner. Control Range: 50:1. Supply air pressure: 65-85 psi. The control valve is located in the TFF retentate line

Electronic Scale:

Electronic Scale, 30kg capacity, +/- 0.005kg resolution. NTEP Class III, HACCP sensitive sanitary design. Stainless steel wash-down construction with 12 x 12 platform. Serial communication / hookup. Scale is located on a SS platform above the pump motor to provide gravity flow of retentate into the AccuLobe rotary lobe pump head.

Reservoir:

20 liter polypropylene, retentate reservoir, bottom outlet with shut-off valve. Reservoir cap comes with two (2) ½ barb inlets and one (1) ¼ barb inlet. The 20 liter reservoir is located on the 30 kg scale and has a fluid connection to inlet of the rotary lobe pump.

Diaphragm Valves:

Three (3), 316 SS, manual diaphragm valves with ¾ TC connectors, located in the feed, retentate and permeate lines for isolation of MaxiMate TFF filtration device.

Sampling Valve:

316 SS, Inline Sampling Valve with ¼ TC connections and ¼ hose barb outlet. Located in the feed line at the system low-point. Sampling valve is also used for draining of TFF system.

SS Tubing:

316 SS tubing, custom elbows and tees, electro-polished, ½ TC connections for system assembly.

Maximate:

316 SS, Maximate Filter Holder (Pall Corporation)

Documentation:

Documentation software, place all filtration parameters in Excel and produces charts and graphs. Provides an instantaneous overview of the filtration progress and status.

FillMaster™ Dispensing Systems

SciLog FillMaster Large Volume Liquid Dispensing System with Balance and Carboy

SciLog FillMaster rapidly dispenses and filter-sterilizes solutions into sterile storage bags. The FillMaster utilizes a peristaltic pump head for maintaining aseptic pumping conditions; only the internal tube walls are in contact with the solution. The FillMaster dispenses solutions either by weight or volume.

Pump Heads:

104 - Peristaltic Model 620RE4 (Watson Marlow). Uses StaPure Teflon tubing sizes: 17mm (0.54 to 14.6 Liters/min) and 12mm 0.34 to 8.14 Liters/min). The FillMaster with the 620RE4 pump head generates a constant pump output over a pressure range of 0-60 psi. Both tube sizes come with fractional sanitary flange (3/4 Tri-clover) connectors made of Kynar. The pump rollers (4) can be disengaged for CIP/SIP application without removing the pump tubing.

104B - Peristaltic Model 620R (Watson Marlow). Uses continuous pump tubing sizes: 6.4 mm ID (#26), 9.6 mm ID (#73), 12.7 mm ID (#82) and 15.9 mm ID (#184). Wall thickness of 3.2 mm (0.125 ) for all tubing sizes.

Power: 115 VAC, 60 / 50 Hz, double fused. Fuse rating: 5A, 250 V, Slow Blow for 0.5 HP motors; 10 A, 250 V, Slow Blow for 1.0 HP and 1.5 HP motors.

Analog Daughter Board (P/N #800-444) provides two additional 4-20 mA SciPro inputs for hook up to external concentration detectors; the SciPro Analog Daughter Board can accommodate Wedgewood Flow-through UV, pH or Conductivity detectors. Detector outputs are incorporated in SciPro software as user-programmable alarms.

Multiple-Valve Control Box (P/N#800-450): Remote control of twelve (12) electrically actuated air flow valves (Clippard) for automated pneumatic operation of twelve (12) pinch valves or sanitary diaphragm valves. Fully programmable from SciPro via dedicated serial port or manual control from front panel of multi-Valve Box. Optional inputs for valve position sensors.
